Today I finished Olalla. It's wonderful short story by Robert Louis Stevenson (author of The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde). It seemed to have echos of Dracula (which I still have ashamedly not read) when in reality was published a few year before Bram Stroker's classic. I never really read any psychological horror/thrillers before and it was very interesting.
I started the Golden Bowl by Henry James. It sounds like it will be good but Im having trouble pinning down the Prince's character. And the fact he's just called (so far) the Prince. I mean if I can repeat my much repeated friend -
'What is this shit?'
But Im sure it'll come good and he will end up with a name. I hope.
